About Us

In 1984, LHRDI opened its first Worker Assistance Center in Baton Rouge to help Louisianans learn new skills in high growth occupations through a partnership with the Louisiana Department of Labor and the Louisiana AFL-CIO. Through this collaboration and with funding from the Job Training Partnership Act, we trained thousands of workers and expanded to Shreveport, Monroe, Lake Charles, and New Orleans. Since the passage of the Workforce Innovation Act, LHRDI has provided early intervention Rapid Response services across the state.

LHRDI also manages the Mobile Workforce Centers on behalf of the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The Mobile Workforce Centers deliver workforce resources and services to individuals and businesses throughout the state.

Since our inception, we are proud to have been awarded contracts from the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of Defense, Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund. Most recently, LHRDI was awarded a grant through the Louisiana Department of Revenue. Through this funding we established a Child Care Relief Fund to help women return to the workforce after pandemic related job loss.
