About Us
In 1984, LHRDI opened its first Worker Assistance Center in Baton Rouge to help Louisianans learn new skills in high growth occupations through a partnership with the Louisiana Department of Labor and the Louisiana AFL-CIO. Through this collaboration and with funding from the Job Training Partnership Act, we trained thousands of workers and expanded to Shreveport, Monroe, Lake Charles, and New Orleans. Since the passage of the Workforce Innovation Act, LHRDI has provided early intervention Rapid Response services across the state.
LHRDI also manages the Mobile Workforce Center in collaboration with the Louisiana Workforce Center. The Mobile Workforce Center delivers workforce resources and services to individuals and businesses throughout the state.
We are proud to announce our newly established Child Care Relief Fund to help women return to the workforce after pandemic related job loss. This fund provides a $500 payment to a licensed child care provider upon proof of new employment.
